We were lucky enough to have visited Bangus Valley in May and were able to get firsthand experience of its lush green and natural beauty.We left our base camp in Handwara at 6:00 AM and arrived at Qalamabad at 6:30 AM. As we knew that there would be scarce facilities further ahead, we made sure to carry sufficient supplies like water bottles, food items, and money.Once we arrived at Bada Bangus valley, we got out of our car and started our expedition toward Lashar Mountain. Although the route was not easy, the landscapes made it more exciting. After spending some hours climbing, we rested for some time to take in the beautiful surroundings and the wildflowers around us.Then we proceeded further for the next 50 minutes, and eventually got to the top of Lashar mountain. The view from there was really mesmerizing; lush green meadows, streams, and a totally quiet environment. It was like we had disconnected ourselves from the outer world for some time.After that we descended down to a place named Bada Bangus and relished a lunch in the midst of a serene meadow and crystal-clear stream. We had an awesome time outdoors.Later in the evening, we stopped at a small tea stall, where we were served nun chai with makki ki roti. In the end we set up our tents, ignited a bonfire and cooked our dinner. As the night got colder, we indulged in star gazing amidst nature under the sky which was one of the most memorable experiences in Bangus Valley.The next day in the afternoon we went to Lokut (Chota) Bangus, rode horses and explored meadows.
